Blog Forty: What Did Jesus Say About Lust Gone Wrong? Part Ten
If God's Word IS the law that we will be judged by in the last day, don't we need to know what it says about how we should live?
Besides , the God who created us; our emotions and chemistry gave us instructions on how to live a fulfilling and contented life.
Anyother path leads to heartache and distroys real heartfelt joy.
In last week’s lesson we saw that within the Greek Biblical words for the sin of uncleanness is the word lewd, and the second meaning for lewd is salacious.
Webster’s Compact Dictionary: lewd adj. 1) sexually unchaste 2) salacious
Salacious in part, means sexually suggestive (seducing).
Webster’s Compact Dictionary: salacious adj. sexually suggestive.
This could mean deliberately dressing to seduce by our attire, and most certainly participating in photo shoots sold for magazines or internet free photos to seduce sexually.
Another dictionary includes the word lecherous. Since these words are not common to 75% of the public, we continue a word study to help understand just what “Lust gone wrong” means.
Webster’s New World Dictionary: salacious adj. 1) lecherous; lustful 2) obscene
Webster’s Compact Dictionary: Lecherous adj. from Lechery n. = inordinate; (which means= unusual or excessive) indulgence in sex.
These adjectives are describing “lust gone wrong.” Some of these obscene, apart from human intellect, unusual and excessive are: 1) Child porno which ends up like most porno, with actual physical sexual contact; child molestation. 2) Rape; forced sexual conduct against the will of a person. 3) Activity with an animal other than a human. 4) Sexual activity of two of the same sexual gender.
When God designed Sexual relations for one man and one woman for life, it was not vulgar, indecent, obscene and filthy; but it was and is decent, beautiful, modest, pure and clean as man and wife expressed their love for each other.
The bible says with in the bedroom of the married sex is undefiled:
Heb 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
Strong’s Concordance: undefiled = Greek # 283 unsoiled ; Pure
The above verse is not talking about God judging, but is talking about His covenant judging . The Law of Sin and Death will judge us. And we will be judged by the Word of God, which is our instructions for our life's journey.
Jesus said, “The father judges no man.”
Joh 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
Joh 5:23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
Who did Jesus come to judge? The Prince of this world, Lucifer; Satan.
Jesus said:
Joh 8:15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
The above verse Hebrews 13:4 is talking about His covenant will judge; we will be judged by this same Word of God in the end time. Shouldn’t we want to know what this set of laws are; that we will be judged by?
Joh 12:44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.
Joh 12:45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.
Joh 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
Joh 12:47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Joh 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
Joh 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
Joh 12:50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
In Mark Chapter 7 , Jesus names the sins that start in the heart:
Mar 7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
Mar 7:22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
Mar 7:23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
A word study helps give understanding and knowledge that obviously this generation has NOT been taught. How will they know withut a teacher? And who will tell them the truth?
What does lasciviousness mean in all Scripture?
Strong’s Concordance: Lasciviousness Greek #766 licentiousness = (Web Dict. Licentious=Person disregarding sexual restraints), filthy.
This sounds like lust gone wrong to me.
