Blog/Lesson Five What Is The Most Important Choice A Human Being Will Ever Make?

Some of the most important decisions we will make in life are: right relationships, schools, college education, occupation or career choice, right investments, purchase of a home, and marriage; which is supposed to be a commitment for a life time. All of these decisions will have a huge effect on your entire life. If you are young, a life time seems like a long time, doesn’t it?

But there is only one choice that will make a difference for all eternity; one that ensures that we will be forever and ever in God’s presence in His beautiful New Heaven and New Earth.

What does eternal life mean?

It is hard for our minds to comprehend forever; because everything that our natural eyes see; since the fall of Adam’s sin, either dies or wears out.

We might look at it like this: Our “life time” on this earth is like one grain of sand on Destin, Fl. beach, compared to the number of grains of sand on all the beaches and under all the oceans of the earth. When every grain of sand is counted, then the counting would start over and repeat over and over and never stop.

Life eternal is never ending.

Scripture says “Life I like a vapor. It is here today and gone tomorrow!”

Jas 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

The day before my Mother passed away, she asked me, “Are you going with me?” I said, “Where Mom?” She said, “You know, to Heaven.” I answered, “I can’t go now Mom, I just wrote a book and I’ve got ministry to do.” She then gave me the charge of my life that I will never forget. As she looked me in the eyes, she said, “Well are you doing it??” She knew her life was about over. What we are going to do, we had better get on with it!

Today is the first day of the rest of our lives; and a day we can never recall. Let us make the most of every day, and make it count and be of worth. What makes life worth living? Loving God with all our heart and showing love and care for others, as we would care for ourselves.

Life is so short compared to eternity, yet the choice we make to believe on Jesus Christ and receive Him as our Lord and Savior determines where we spend it.

Joshua told the children of Israel,” Choose you this day whom you will serve.”

Jos 24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.

Jos 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Jesus calls us His sheep when we repent of our sins, believe and receive Him as Lord of our lives. Jesus told the unbelieving Jews, “My sheep hear my voice, I give them eternal Life. And I and my Father are ONE.”

Joh 10:23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.

Joh 10:24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

Joh 10:25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.

Joh 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

Joh 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Joh 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Joh 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

Joh 10:30 I and my Father are one.

Jesus said, “If you believe on me, you believe in the Father who sent me, and I am come as a light to this world, and all who believe in me will not live in darkness.”

Joh 12:44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

Joh 12:45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.

Joh 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

Apostle Paul wrote to Titus, “We were terrible in our sins, (Paul even had believers of Jesus killed), but in God’s kindness and love toward man, He appeared through Jesus Christ, and justified us through His grace giving us the hope of eternal life.”

Tit 3:3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

Tit 3:4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Tit 3:6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

Tit 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Choosing to receive Christ as Savior and Lord is ultimately the most important choice we will ever make in our life time.

The greatest benefit of Salvation is of course; Life Eternal forever with God in His beautiful New Heaven and New Earth.

Our minds can’t imagine how wonderful how beautiful Heaven will be. The city John saw coming down to earth in a vision from God, tells us what the headquarters of Heaven will be like: streets of pure gold, gates made of pearl, walls of jasper; (like precious jewelry.) The new earth, scholars believe will be like the first perfect place God made for mankind; the garden of Eden. Many believe there will be so much to do we will never get bored, and 1000 years will feel like the first day of our eternity. (Rev. 21:18-21)

Jesus said,”I go to prepare a place for you and I will come back and receive you unto me, that where I am, there you may be also, I am the way, the truth and the life, No man comes to the Father except by me. The Spirit of God draws man unto God when the TRUTH of the Word of God is taught or read.

Joh 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Joh 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Jesus was a three part person, His spirit was totally God (Deity), and his mind (soul, will, and emotions, and body was human. Part of the time He spoke as the Son of man and part of the time He spoke as the Son of God (Deity, Holy Spirit). Here he was speaking as the deity in Him. We serve ONE God, One Spirit, and One Lord.

Joh 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

Joh 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Joh 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Joh 14:4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

Joh 14:5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

God is Love and Love doesn’t force, God gave us free will to choose Him. He first loved us.

Now the choice is yours and mine. If you don’t know the Savior of the world today, Lesson Two will assist you in prayer. Jesus is waiting. Don’t be fooled by Satan’s deception or the confusion of others; JESUS IS THE ONLY DOOR TO HEAVEN! Do NOT miss it, because eternity last FOREVER! Next week: Lesson Six /What Happens at Salvation? Explains what takes place at Salvation.
