Blog Twenty Six / What Really Happened at Calvary? Lesson Eight
Do you need healing for your body, or do you know someone who does?
Was our healing provided at Calvary? How do we get it?
The same faith that saves us from our sins will save us from our sicknesses if we can believe. Faith comes by hearing and reading the Word of God. We must first KNOW that it is God’s Will to Heal our body as it is for Him to Save our soul. We must believe His Word to be TRUE, to produce the faith we need to receive it.
In the third book of my “The Truth About God” series to be published by Charisma House/ Creation House, I have five full chapters on this subject of Divine Healing. So in this blog/Lesson, I can only touch lightly on the subject of Healing:
Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
In verse 17 just what does the word SAVED encompass?
Strong’s Concordance: (Saved) Greek #4982 “Sozo” (to save, deliver, or protect, heal, preserve, do well, be made whole.)
It is evident that this one Greek (New Testament) word; Sozo means; and is used for healing for our spirit, soul and body. It includes: deliverance and healing; to be made whole.
This means EVERYONE; whosoever, right? I liked Keith Porter’s thoughts he posted on face Book today:

The Old Testament prophesies of Jesus’s Strips on His back that would be for our healings:
Isa 50:6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
Isa 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Jesus was not only tied to the whipping post, but He gave Himself to be tied because of His compassion to see us healed. He took the pain so we can be free of pain. God wants us living in perfect health; so He can live and work through us more years on this earth. Our body is His Temple after we receive Salvation through Christ’s shed Blood at Calvary. It is God’s will that we all live a long and healthy life on this earth. Our bodies are not our own but are bought with the price of Calvary.
1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
Eph 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow- citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
Eph 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
Eph 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
Eph 2:22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
With our free will, we must choose to take care of this body God lives in; His body. He can heal us, but if we don’t change our life style (that is if wrong diet, lack of exercise or any other abusive activity caused the illness) we will get sick again. (That’s another whole subject for sharing at another time.)
Back to the whipping post where Jesus gave His back to be smitten for our healing:
History and the customs of that time records these beatings to be so cruel that unless a friend or family member intervened to stop them, these soldiers would continue beyond the 39 strips. Often the victims of this type of punishment would die right there before being nailed to the cross. They lost most of their blood right there. These historical facts are far from the modern pictures of the crucifixions of Jesus. These precious strips were not for naught or nothing.
I believe that Heaven has storehouses full of God’s beautiful gifts with “Returned to sender” on them that never were released (dropped down to us) because of our lack of knowledge; God’s truth on the subject of Healing. If God could cry tears, heaven would be full of rivers because of God’s grief every time a child of His (a soldier in His Army) dies before an old age and life wasn’t fulfilled.
(I might add: Being a Martyr for our God is NOT doing God’s Kingdom an honor. That person can NOT have another Bible study or prayer meeting or win another person to the Real God Jehovah. Each martyr is an extreme lose to God and His Army building God’s Kingdom here on earth!) But Martyrdom has been something the Middle Eastern people have been raised up to believe it is an HONOR. You can see it is a fable/lie of Satan to steal, kill and destroy God’s Army. Look at the pain and torcher of slavery in its worst kind the wife and children will go through in their lifetimes. Shouldn’t we cast the demons out of these terrorist murderers and set them free, instead of bowing and giving them our heads!
This Last Day Church must arise in its rightful strength and Power of Holy Spirit in us and win this generation to Him! We must all go through His Boot Camp of His Word and times in PRAYER alone with Him; which is putting on His ARMOUR. (This will be in the Fourth Book of my series.)
But for now, this world needs to witness our healing miracles and theirs to show them our God is real, for the same reason Jesus healed people.
Jesus said that the words and works that He did came from God (Deity in the Father) working through Him. Then He said that we are to carry on these works speaking His words after He (God’s Word; Deity in the Son) went back to Heaven to sit on the right side of the Throne. To help us He would send (Deity in the Holy Spirit; same Spirit that lived in Jesus) to join to our spirit and live in us. These precious Words of Christ are so vitally important to us that they are worth repeating in this lesson:
Joh 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
(What are these “GREATER WORKS”? His Spirit living in all of us; if we were sold out to His purpose, we would take dominion of this earth with powerful prayers thanking God that His Warrior angels are setting on ready to bind up the evil spirits with chains and fetters of iron and chaining them in the pit, setting the captive free from sin and bondage. I am talking about the Later Rain Revival that will usher in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ! )
Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
What works did Jesus do? Scripture says He went about healing ALL the sick and setting the captive and oppressed free:
Mat 12:14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.
Mat 12:15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
Mar 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
Jas 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
God doesn’t have sickness to give (He provided healing from It.) and HE does NOT allow Satan to give it to us for His purpose. (Satan does NOT work for our God, if God controlled Satan there would be no evil in this world.)
There was no sickness or death until Adam and Eve brought sin into the World. There was no sin until Lucifer sinned and created the Law of Sin and Death. Actually, there was not judgment until Lucifer’s sin turned God’s LOVE Law of Free will and Sowing and Reaping Love into the Law of Sin and Death which required reaping death for sin. Once God makes a Word Covenant or Law, He has bound Himself to that covenant and His Word will last forever,(Cannot be changed). Judgment comes from the Law of Sin and Death; which I believe: the study of this Law has been a missing link in Modern Theology.

Joh 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
Jesus came to judge the prince of this world which He did accomplish at Calvary; and Jesus did lock up some demons when He arose out of Hell and Abraham’s Bosom. But Lucifer and the rest his fallen Angels (princes of this world) are not bound yet and are doing all they can to kill, steal and destroy because they know their end is near. God is waiting on you and me to partner with Him to wind this thing down. But as long as the church believes the fable “God is in total control of every earthly event”, the Body of Christ sits idle; believing Satan’s lie and WAITING ON GOD to do what and when He wants to.
Lucifer also called Satin started sickness, but Jesus came to save, heal, and deliver.
Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Joh 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
Joh 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Mat 9:32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.
Mat 9:33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
Mat 12:22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
Wow! What signs, wonders and miracles Jesus did! Importantly, Jesus gave his deciples power to do the same miracles and Jesus gave the same commission to all believers:
Mar 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Mar 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Mar 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Mar 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
Mar 16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
History records that the first church of Acts did The Great Commission of Jesus Christ, but these works were never to have stopped. Among the redemptive names of God is Jehovah Rapha, which is translated “I am the Lord thy Physician,” and “I am the Lord that healeth thee”. This name is given to reveal to us our redemptive privilege of being healed. This privilege has been purchased by the Atonement in Christ.
It is a daily challenge to walk with God and yield to His will, purpose and destiny for our lives.
God wants and must have a Divine Partnership with each of us to bring His Kingdom to this earth. God is looking and waiting on you and me! WILL WE GIVE HIM TIME AND PLACE IN OUR LIVES????? HE WAITS>
