Blog/Lesson Fourteen Who IS Jesus? Part Seven
As you have seen through these lessons; the Bible speaks of Jesus as both the ‘Son of God’ and the ‘Son of man’ with a (little m) to help us recognize when Jesus is speaking of himself, or is spoken about as His Deity or from His humanity. We have seen in the Scriptures that Jesus was born a three part person; 100% God in His Spirit, with a human soul; (mind, will and emotions) housed in a human body (temple). Jesus’s three part person must be understood in order to fully understand what really happened at Calvary, our next subject to cover, stay with me, because it gets exciting!
John records Jesus’s words promising the Holy Spirit. Here Jesus speaks as the Son of man (His human soul) and says that the “Father will send the Holy Ghost.
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will
keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come
unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not
keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine,
but the Father's which sent me. These things have I spoken unto,
you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is
the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall
teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14: 23-26)
Since there were no chapters to divide the original text, Jesus went on to say,: I will send the Comforter to you from the Father (Deity in Heaven). Here Jesus is speaking as the Son of God (His Deity):
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you
from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth
from the Father, he shall testify of me: (John 15:26 )
The Spirit of God in Jesus told Him what to say and do, while He was on this earth. Jesus said when the Holy Spirit comes joins to our spirit, He will tell us what He hears from Heaven; teaching us understanding of the Scriptures.
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more;
but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day
ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in
you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he
it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my
Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. (John 14:18-21)
It is my perception that the reason God called Jesus His only begotten SON, is because God knew we could understand that a child comes out from its parent’s DNA. God’s Spirit was the seed that entered the virgin girl Mary, and without a human male, she birthed the baby God-man, Jesus. Praise His Holy Name!
The three names: Father, Son and Holy Spirit are the three names of the only True God; expressing the three ways God works and has the ability to come out from himself and live in all of us. This is the message of Jesus Christ. We believe in ONE true God, who is one Spirit, and has one character. Jesus came to reveal the Character of God. Jesus came with mystery and truth; which was not known previously:
Jesus said, “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father:”
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also:
and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me?
the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father
that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me:
or else believe me for the very works' sake. I will not leave you
comfortless: I will come to you. At that day (Day of Pentecost)
ye shall know that Iam in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that
loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and
I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. (John 14: 6-7,8-11,18, 20-21).
Apostle Paul was converted from being the worst enemy and murderer of Christ followers, and became one of the greatest apostles, evangelist and authors of the first century church of Jesus Christ, anointed by the Holy Spirit to expound on the Gospel of Christ. This we are all called to do today, in our everyday lives. It may be one on one or by group; but the Great Commission is the same and is to all of us who believe:
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the
gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall
be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these
signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out
devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents;
and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall
lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (Mark 16: 15-18).
In writing to the Colossians, Paul wrote about the mystery that was hidden through the ages but was manifest in Christ to the saints, all those who would receive it:
Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of
God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; Even
the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations,
but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make
known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles;
which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning
every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present
every man perfect in Christ Jesus: (Colossians 1:25-28).
During that first church age, the mystery of the Gospel and the message of the hidden Truth about God’s Character went out to every tongue and nation; every inhabited place on the earth at that time. Then the dark ages came in the fourth church age; the Thyatira church age when Satan hid the Gospel. This Light or Truth that was lost during this Thyatira church age of time I believe had to have been the following Truths:
1) There is ONE God, and HE is Light, Love and Life, and there is No darkness in Him at all,
2) Jesus was that Messiah sent down from Heaven;
3) Jesus was God in the flesh and became man in order to judge Lucifer and fallen angels,
4) Jesus was the perfect sinless Lamb for the sacrifice to the Law of Sin and Death for all mankind who will receive Him.
By the way it was this era of time that Mohammed lived and wrote his two different sets of writings; the later included the Killing by Jihad for all who did not profess to be Muslim. But the World will NOT become Muslim: (There will be more about the seven church ages and God’s Victorious Eschatology (Truth about the end time Scriptures) in Book Four of my upcoming book series.)
To be continued next Monday. If you learned something from this lesson, share the Gospel today with your friends on Face Book and Twitter. When you share this, you will be a missionary to America!
