Isn’t it exciting to know that Deity, the one true God comes out from himself and lives in all of us when we receive Christ as our Lord and Savior. Yes, the creator God; who spoke the whole universe into existence, at our repentance and acceptance of Jesus; lives in us!! That’s a big WOW! When He is joined to our spirit, He knows our very thoughts and knows our needs before we even ask. We should start our prayers with thanksgiving; thanking Him for knowing our needs and meeting those needs.
“And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. And he arose, and departed to his house. “ (Matthew 9:3-7)
“But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.” (Matthew 6:7-8) (Then Jesus gave them what we call, “The Lord’s Prayer”.)
With thanksgiving, we should make our request known to God: thanking Him for knowing our needs and meeting those needs:
“Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4: 4-7)
Above in verse 4:6, “Be careful for nothing,” means don’t worry about things, because if we keep our minds on Jesus and thank Him for meeting our needs, He will keep our minds in His PEACE. Jesus will be our anxiety pill. When we get addicted to Him, it will be the best thing that ever happened to us!
The Bible says that God has carved you and me in the palm of his hand, and He knows the number of hairs on our head, which means His eyes never leave us:
‘Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.” (Isaiah 49:15-16)
“Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. (Luke 12:6-7)
Now that’s Personal! No other religion claims this personal God, who lives inside man’s heart/spirit and communes with every human being who will receive Him as Lord and Savior.
At Salvation, we become a little “Ark of the Covenant.” In The Old Testament, the Ark of the Covenant was where God’s Spirit, presence and Word/laws dwelt on the Earth. The Children of Israel carried it around with them. But there were prophesies in the Old Testament; that one day (after Calvary on the Day of Pentecost) God’s Word would be written in the hearts (spirit) of mankind:
“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.” (Jeremiah 31:31-33)
Now after Jesus Christ, the Messiah came and won mankind back to God through Calvary, We can carry His Word and presence in our hearts 24/7. And He will never leave us.
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16)
“And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:16-18)
John, the disciple of Jesus who walked beside Jesus from the beginning of His ministry to the end, said in the last chapter and verse of his book of Saint John; that it would be impossible to record all the wonderful Words and works that Jesus did:
“This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true. And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.” (John 21:24-25)
I close this series of “Who is Jesus” with the following beautiful verses, about the divine LOVE of Christ for mankind; which give assurance and peace to our souls:
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:35-39)
Nothing or nobody can separate us from Jesus. By our own free will choice we can push God out away from our spirit like Adam and Eve did; but His love for us will never change and He will always be on the outside knocking on our hearts door beckoning to come in again and fellowship with us.
It is my belief that most of our modern Theology has pulled our doctrine of the Trinity too far apart; meaning, instead of saying “We believe in one God in ‘three persons’, it is closer to Scripture to say, “We believe in one God dwelling and working in three ways, Deity in Heaven, Father, Deity in Jesus the Son, Deity on Earth= in heart of the believer, Holy Spirit. We have no trouble with the same Spirit of God dwelling in me as in you; the same Spirit of Deity on the throne dwelt in Jesus, and in us; Holy Spirit. One God, one Spirit and one Lord; it is this TRUTH that makes the enemy tremble! Amen.
